Is it one set? Is it 3 sets? Idk mods, you decide :D
So I couldn't pick which mode I wanted to do this round, SO I DID 3.

01-05: HARD MODE: Select an album and make only one icon for each song.
I picked Johannesburg EP by Mumford & Sons, which has exactly 5 songs so it was perfect for this. I didn't want to use lyrics so I just went with the ~vibe~ of each song.

Icons aside, I REALLY recommend this EP.

06-10: EXTRA HARD MODE: Use randomized songs as your inspiration (one icon per song).
I'm mostly an album listener, and Spotify doesn't allow for easy randomizing of your collection, so I used one of my few playlists for this: a MASSIVE collection of anime openings/endings and insert songs. Which I thought would be an interesting challenge, since every song would have some visuals to go with it too... But just iconing the anime the song comes from would be to easy, so I randomized 5 more songs to pick what I would be iconing to mix it up. Pairs are:
06 - Darker Than Black ed + Natsume Yuujinchou
07 - Haikyuu ed 4 + Gurren-Lagann
08 - Sailor Moon Stars ed + Neon Genesis Evangelion
09 - Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru op 2 + Cardcaptor Sakura
10 - Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu op + Slayers

Got some real oldies here, but everything except the 4th one had good visuals so this was fun :D The 4th one was just... people running (makes sense for an anime about running I guess??) so I had a bit of a harder time but somehow that's my favorite outcome of them all? And the 5th... I have no recollection of ever watching this show, but the opening sure looks very unique lol

11-15: ULTRA HARD MODE: Choose just one song and use consecutive parts of the lyrics in all your icons.
Ahh man the hardest part was actually picking a song where I could (& wanted to) icon 5 consecutive lines lol. I was close to abandoning this till Shut Up And Dance by Walk the Moon came on the radio when I was at work and well. It worked! I made 2 artistic choices that maybe disqualify this set though: used speechbubbles instead of actually putting the words 'I said'/'she said' on the icon, and changed woman to man. Is that ok? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This challenge was funnn. I wish I could have done mode but my time was very limited lately sooo. Also, this post is not a rainbow and it makes me sad u__u

YESSS THIS IS EVERYTHING!!! I was very much looking forward to which mode you'd pick and of course you picked all three of the hard ones :D I'll count these as three separate sets cause the mode is different, but they work really well together as a single set too (yes, even despite the lack of rainbow this time), so great job keeping the set cohesive despite so many different inspirations!

1 is gorgeous, love the brown grunge, the icon captures the sense of togetherness in the song. The lighting in 2 is absolute MAGIC, and wow at the composition in 5 - always a fan of target textures, the stark silhouettes against the red sky look impactful and the slight 3d effect is gorgeous.

WHOA, the extra randomness you inserted into Extra hard mode is awesome. I keep being both impressed and terrified at how much you complicate these challenges WILLINGLY o_O
The Haikyuu! ending looks VERY difficult to use as visual inspiration, but you did a fantastic job, love that icon. 8 is spectacular, I've never seen a puzzle background like this and the fact that it comes from the visual inspiration tells me it's probably not an existing texture and that you did some actual magic here and I have no idea how; anyway, I absolutely adore how the missing pieces reveal a bit of the image underneath, what a super cool composition. And the bright yellow/blue/red coloring is really neat.
10 looks great as well with beautiful coloring and a fun composition/texture use, this video was SUPER fun and cute and I think you captured colorful jungle wibe perfectly :D.

The ultra hard mode set is just WOW, mad respect for that. Not many makers took this mode and for a reason, it's almost impossible lol. I'll allow your artistic choices, it's close enough. Anyway, these text arrangements are incredible (LOVE the speech bubbles). The way you enchanced the motion/pose in 11 and 12 is super cool and different. LOVE the blending and the extra vibrant cyan grunge in 13. Great coloring, composition and font choices in 14, I don't know this fandom but I can see the tension in this icon. And the last one, wow at the composition, so many interesting details and the warm/cool block split looks great.

I just freaking love how your brain works when it comes to challenges and iconing - every choice is smart and creative. Thanks so much for entering three awesome sets! <3 The icontest icons at the end are gorgeous too, especially the last one with those neon colors!

It may sound weird but iconmaking is most fun for me if I have to make a spreadsheet to keep track of it, so extra challenges are what really inspires me lol :D Kinda hoping for another summer break @ somein30 so maybe this time I can attempt to squeeze more than 4 different rounds into one post...... last time I did 4 but I COULD DO BETTER

Your use of text for the Ultra Hard mode is really interesting, especially in icons 11 and 12. My favourite icons overall are maybe 1 and 5, moody and great colour!
