ssssoooo this set is totally not what I was planning to make. I had this grand plan of making a set of 'hero' characters in their villain moments, like The Doctor in The Waters of Mars or Steve Rogers in the entire CA:CW film. I had notes! And ideas!
however.
then the new season of Haikyuu!! started aaand I just had to icon the volleyball idiots ssso. This set is a huge stretch because lbr, there are no villains in this show?? They are all lovely and wonderful. But the first 7 is the main team and the second 7 are the rivals so hopefully that counts... somewhat. I did try to make the icons more dramatic by adding random intense backlighting that makes zero sense, considering those scenes are taking place in the middle of the day in well-lit gyms, but. artistic licence!
anyway mods feel free to disqualify me if this is too irrelevant to the theme idk. but if you don't, then it would be super lovely if in the voting the icons could be displayed in rows of 7 instead of the standard 5, because you know. rainbows.

Omg your first idea for a set sounds so cool, you would have probably been the only one to go Extra hard, but yeah I TOTALLY get you - sometimes our muses just go to a different direction xD I remember being interested in this anime at some point cause I thought it sounded like Free!. Do you recommend it? A rival team definitely counts as villains in sports! I'll talk to thyla about the rows, why not :D

Anyway, this set is so gorgeous, I have no idea how you add so much depth to anime caps!! Especially since you mentioned this not being the natural lighting of the caps. I wouldn't even know where to start but like, 12 is soooo gorgeously dramatic and smooth and perfectly atmospheric because of the lighting and coloring <3 And 2 is just swimming in this gorgeous glowy light *__*

6 is great and I have no idea how you a) had the patience to cut all the billion people from the background, holy shit and b) managed to keep this tiny clutter of people so clear that you can still easily see what's going on, wow. I think it's the addition of those shadows that helps add some clarity, somehow, idk. But I love them and the red/black combo is always great!
7 is fantastic, the color combo is stunning and the composition is so much fun :D Everything about 3 looks so dynamic and energetic, the cap, the background and the coloring - awesome icon!
I love everything about 9, especially the subtle grunge and the way you made the front person stand out from the team on the background.
15 is so fun, love the composition so much! And I adore the colorng on 20.

Unfortunately, I am but a slave to my muse and my muse wanted volleyball dorks so.

I would DEFINITELY recommend it. It's a bit more sport-focused than Free, but the studio did an amazing job making the volleyball parts engaging even to people who have no interest in it (like me), the characters are all AMAZING (seriously I love everyone) and the music is greeeaaaat. Try iiiiit.

Awesome colors! I love the combination of yellow with mostly black on 11. The lighting of 2 and 12 is also gorgeous :)

This set is absolutely fantastic♥ the color combo is stunning (the rainbow) and the composition here is stunning!
The crop, the lighting are amazing of . 4 really awesome texture use and I adore the lighting :)
And 6; magnificent! I love the shadows . the corp and the color! I am also overwhelmed the fact that you did have patience to cut all the people :D I tried that and gave up :D haha! :D
I adore the coloring 7 and 14!
10 and 12 has perfect shadow/lighting and the contrast and I adore the cop both of them ♥

I especially love all the effects you added, e.g. in 5 and 10 and 12. My faves are 6 (omg the masking!) and 2 (great lighting!), and 9 (I just love the depth).
